When I started diving into UX and learning its methods, we all had the same complaints…
“Is this done correctly?”
Doubting whether what we're doing is right to the point of being confused about what to do next. In many cases, it ends up delaying progress because we're just going in circles trying to "perfect" the process.
But I haven’t made the wireframes yet
But I haven’t done the testing yet
But I haven’t done the research yet
But I haven’t used design thinking yet
But… but… but…
Until someone finally said,
“Is there such a thing as a perfect process?”
My mindset changed, becoming more dynamic and flexible.
“Don’t see design as a one-time process; try to see design as an iterative process.”
Meaning,
Even if it's wrong today
Even if something is missing today
Even if it hasn’t been tested yet
It can still be fixed tomorrow—that’s what iterative means
So, don’t panic or feel guilty when you feel your process isn’t perfect yet. It’s part of the journey. Lift your head and move on.
Done is 100 times better than perfect.
